Never figured
that I’d become a fan of the sun! Spent the day reading some papers in the deck outside the Foege Building. Beautiful view by the way, don’t worry, you don’t have to be affiliated with one of the research labs or whatever to go there.
Park that car. Drop that phone. Sleep on the floor. Dream about me!
Perform the simplest exercises

Without my Macbook Pro: Day Two
Just trying to keep myself occupied. Been playing a lot of guitar. Had to go to Ode to write a paper. The biggest issue I’ve come across is not being able to use the calendar app on my mac. It’s making it really hard to plan my day out. Looks like I’ll have to adjust for now.
Without my MacBook Pro: Day One
I had to send in my baby for a 300 dollar repair to fix either the logic board or the graphics card. Hopefully it’s the graphics card cause I can get some money back from that. I must say it’s really tough. But I’m keeping myself occupied. Atleast I have my iPod touch to stay in touch (oh. get it?) with my emails and …facebook.
If seeing is right
then look at where you’re at.
Gotta hate
those pre-lab notebook write ups.

The Best Thing About the Quarter System:
You get more chances to start over.
And I definitely need a fresh start as well as some damn redemption.
Dean’s List, the gym, and a social life. Here I come.
Here’s to a good spring quarter everyone, good luck!
We are not scare mongering. This is really happening.

"You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is...
For this year’s season of Lent, I’ve decided to give up dirty jokes.
It's just how it goes
Lately I’ve been recollecting a conversation I had with my resident advisor when I was living in Lander Hall last year. It was just a regular appointment we have each quarter to discuss how things were going, if there are any issues going on, etc.
So I brought up an issue regarding friends. I had informed him that I have met a lot friends at the UW in my first few days here yet, I also...

It's been feast or famine
for a certain aspect of my life.
And right now, it’s definitely a famine.
A constant state of
exhaustion.
Resolution Sickness?
Found this post at ZenHabits.net via Mark’s Daily Apple.
The Problem with Most Resolutions While I love the optimism of New Year’s Resolutions, unfortunately, the enthusiasm and hope often fades within weeks, and our efforts at self improvement come to a whimpering end.
New Year’s Resolutions usually fail because of a combination of some of these reasons:
We try to do too many...
First resolution complete.
I cancelled my **************** account.

The entire human genome occupies over 3 billion DNA base pairs. It has a data size of approximately 750MB. The capacity of a standard compact disc is 700 MB.
Common miscues
A lot of times I accidentally say “Have a good day” when it’s actually night time. And visa versa.
Also. When someone at a restaurant says “Enjoy!” after serving me the food. I tend to say “Thanks you too.”
Mobility (not quite)
I’m having trouble sleeping so I’ve been playing around on my iTouch and downloaded the Tumblr app. It’s a shame that I really just use my iTouch for listening to music. Well I did get it for free!
Tumblr needs...
a fricken comment feature so there won’t be any posts like a page long only to reblogged and added with something along the lines of “Yeah that’s cool yadda yadda yadda yadda I agree with you yadda yadda.” only for that to reblogged with a response of “I’m glad you agree with me yadda yadda.” etc etc.

Conflicts
I am training to become a scientist but I was raised Catholic. I have historically brushed aside the conflicts that can arise between science and religion. However I do hope to further my career goals but also remain strong in the faith, but it is hard to do so without being a hypocrite. In the laboratory I have the ability to destroy living organisms and manipulate them into unnatural...
Employed
I am now a member of the Mougous Lab. Without getting into any scientific mumbo jumbo, I’ll just say that the lab researches bacteria and how they send out proteins to other cells. My first day on the job consisted of a 6 hour yearly summit and my first assignment was actually to call in our Thai food take out order. I’m really digging the atmosphere the lab has, I feel really...
How cute:
When a chicken embryo is developing. A group of cells secretes a signaling protein that initiates a process known as gastrulation, or the formation of the three layers of your body (ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm). Scientists named this signaling protein “Sonic Hedgehog”
I only stick with you because there are no others.
I know I'm studying O-Chem when...
when I have to go to the bathroom, I look at myself in the mirror and I see my hair is all over the place. Been scratching my head too much in confusion!
Finals and traditions/superstitions
In spirit of finals week (I can’t believe the quarter is ending already), I’d like to share some of my traditions, superstitions, and what you can call… rituals?
-Before every exam I listen to T.I.’s “What You Know” and “Bring ‘Em Out”
-I have clothes that I deem lucky.
-I never study late into the night before, I cut it off at like around...
Finish strong, Justin.

Just picked up some Kiku’s Teriyaki and just about to get inside the house and eat Vic: Dude I’m so hungry. Me: Yeah I’m pretty hungry too. Vic: I’m gonna dominate this food. Me: Yeah man, have you seen Gone in 60 Seconds? Vic: Nope. Me: (Looks at the food) Well you’re about to.
A peculiar situation
My career goal is to conduct biomedical research. So a key asset I must obtain as a work for my degree is lab experience. So for the past year I’ve applied for several labs, each of which has turned me down.
However, recently I was accepted into a biomedical research internship program with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. This a great opportunity to gain some research experience,...
Things I want to do after finals:
A given but: SLEEP. A LOT.
Get back with photography
Go OUT.
SLEEP SOME MORE.
Clean up my hard drive (I only have 22 GB left!)
Get back to reading my blogs
Just for kicks: SLEEP!
Hope the finals prep is going well for everyone. Good luck!
Oh so this is why UW started so late...
we get out a week later!
Happy Dead Week Everyone. Good luck!
I have come to the stark realization that...
my GPA is going to plummet if I don’t do anything drastic.
All I want for Christmas is… a 3.3 in organic chemistry.
How about...
Getting 8 hours a sleep a night?
There’s always next week.
TGIF everyone.
First you reel me out and then you cut the string.
This is why I'm fat (.com)?
I just made a 6 egg omelette with potato, onions, ham, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, as well as a healthy dosage of Tobasco. No pictures, too graphic!

At about 12:30AM we received a knock on the door. With the current situation regarding the police shootings and the possibility that the suspect might be at large in the U-District, we reluctantly opened the door. Outside was a man who had claimed he was a new neighbor who locked himself outside his apartment. He called a locksmith but he had to pay him before his door could be opened. He...

"FML"
Recently, I’ve been yelling out “Fuck my life!” not as a joke anymore, I’m now saying it in frustration. Hmm, I wonder what can explain it? Perhaps finding out that tomorrow’s organic chem quiz covers both Chapter 5 AND Chapter 6. There goes my sleep tonight!

Losing sight of the finish line.
I was recently asked: “What do you want to do in life?” I responded: “I don’t even know anymore.”
We have become so fixated on our immediate commitments that we lose sight of what all those commitments were meant for. I am too caught up in my weekly quizzes, midterms next week, my diet, what the fuck a chair conformation for cyclohexane is, or even if I’ll...
