Conflicts
I am training to become a scientist but I was raised Catholic. I have historically brushed aside the conflicts that can arise between science and religion. However I do hope to further my career goals but also remain strong in the faith, but it is hard to do so without being a hypocrite. In the laboratory I have the ability to destroy living organisms and manipulate them into unnatural morphologies. Am I playing God?
One of the essential foundations of science is the theory of evolution. Of course this is in strong conflict with the Christian belief that we are created by God in His image. The possible middle grown believed by most scientists that choose to remain Christian is that evolution occurs, but it is God, Allah, or whoever the sole creator a religion believes in, is the force of natural selection and therefore the driving force of evolution. I am more and more starting to believe in this. Am I a sinner?
